Square for a friend

The crochet group I like to be part of were making a blanket for the lady who set the group up.
We were all asked to make a 12 inch square for the blanket in the colours of our logo.
Mine is based on the Nordic Star Afghan Square pattern. (Rav link, pattern link)

A plethora of squares

While we were away in Phuket for (the older of) my younger brother's wedding I managed to get a lot of crochet done.

A fair bit was done while sitting with the kids in 'Kids Club' - I know you should be able to leave your kids there and we did leave Little Miss 6, but Master 3 wanted to be there too so I had to hang around (didn't they know LM6 would look after him?).

Patong Flower - a pattern I wrote at the end of our trip while we were staying at Patong Beach, I am working on a 6", 10" and 12" pattern for this one. I have changed the edging but looking at this photo I might change it back.
I have enjoyed doing these squares.
I have also put a row round most the others so that they're all the same size, about 8".
Most of these squares took me a few hours to do and none of them were incredibly difficult.

Squared

It's taken a while to get my square mojo back. Even now, although I want to do them, I have so many other projects that I want to start they just keep getting pushed to the background. It's the squares fault really.... by doing these squares my pattern reading has improved out of sight. I'm tackling bigger and harder projects and enjoying it so the squares have really been worth it. If you are starting out in crochet, or want to improve your skills I can really recommend joining a block a month club, or even hunting out your own to build into a blanket. Here are some I've managed to finish and photograph. I like this square, it's inspired by a square I saw somewhere but can't remember where now. I think it would expand into a nice little blanket all by itself. Sun Daze - Ravelry Link Wandith - Ravelry Link More v's please - Ravelry Link
This one was a pattern from one of the girls in the Crochet Lovers Victoria group.

(I think I like this one the least it just doesn't seem to go with my other squares.)
