Look what my partner found for me in her hunt!

This is the scavenger hunt parcel I received from Layla.
Full to the brim of lovely stuff.
A cup that she painted my name on and a ball of yarn. (Clever idea, I might have to use that one too!)

Some lovely Bendigo yarn. It's Luxury, in Ruby.
Some gorgeous yellow buttons and some soak. (I love buttons, I am going to have to learn some button craft)
A metal knitting needle bracelet. Very nice, I hope I get some comments on it, I think it's really funky.
Some yummmmmmy peppermint tea (which we've both sampled and it is truly delicious) + the gorgeous spoon, which gives you a perfect cup of tea.
A project bag. I love the colour, but I really like how she put the knitted part on the front.
It's full of my current project and an easy little bag to use.
I think I'm going to have to try one or two with these knitted pockets.

She also sent a fairy book + a little felt guinea pig broach for Little Miss (which she adored, as the book has her name in the title) and for Little Master a Peppa Pig + Thomas the Tank Engine book, which he went wild over.

A great big thank you to Layla, we were all very happy.

Christmas Presents

As part of the Australian Swappers Group on Ravelry I participated in a Christmas swap.
We had to keep the parcels under the tree until Christmas Day - this didn't prove as hard to me as I thought. I simply didn't open the parcel and hid it under the Christmas tree skirt... out of sight, out of mind. (It helped that I was frantically busy before Christmas).

My parcel was from the wonderful Samantha (her jewellery store Butterfly Beads is on Made It).

I love the ball of yarn she made me as a necklace. It has a red centre.
Isn't the purse gorgeous too? I keep my special things in it. I just luuurrrve the colour. :o)
There was also some lovely peppermint tea, some earth friendly stationery and it was all wrapped up in a nice red tea towel.

How cute are these earrings below? Mum ordered them from Sam and then she put them in our Bon-bons. Much much better than the usual plastic what-nots in bon-bons!
Sam does great work jewellery work and beautiful stitch markers.
It was a lovely Christmas present and I think it might have been the first one I opened! :o)

This is fun....

I've always wanted to make some knitting needle bracelets after I saw these
months ago.
I wasn't quite sure how... but that has never stopped me.

Mum had left me a few knitting needles she'd grabbed from the Op Shop just for this purpose, but they have been sitting on my kitchen bench for months.
The other day I was on ebay (a rare occurrence I am a bad auction shopper) and caught sight of some red and green vintage needles for sale. They were going cheap.

So I finally did it.
How cute are they?
It did take a bit of fiddling round.

I'm wearing two red needle bracelets here.

It's very addictive making these things, I can see more coming soon!
